YEREVAN. – Eleventh special congress of the Armenian coalition government’s junior member Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP) got underway Saturday in capital city Yerevan.
The event’s order of the day includes the announcement of the RLP position with respect to the presidential elections to be held on February 18, 2013.
But solely representatives from the ruling coalition’s senior partner, the Republican Party (RPA), are invited to the convention. From the RPA, its leader—and incumbent President—Serzh Sargsyan, National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, and PM Tigran Sargsyan likewise are expected to attend the assembly.
There will be 2,400 RLP-member delegates at the congress.
