YEREVAN. – Opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader, Armenian National Movement (ANM) party Board member, and First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan said everything clearly while addressing the 17th congress of ANM, and I do not wish to be indulged in speculating whether or not he will run for president in February’s elections. ANC National Assembly Faction leader Levon Zurabyan told this to news reporters.
To the query that, should Ter-Petrosyan decide not run in the elections, would he disappoint his supporters, Zurabyan responded: “The question is how much will that nomination contribute to the triumph of democracy in the country. He himself should decide.”
At the same time Levon Zurabyan noted that he himself would very much want for Levon Ter-Petrosyan to run for president.
“He is probably the only candidate that could receive the support of all [political] parties that are included in ANC,” he added.
