YEREVAN. – When speaking—during the 24/7 public rallies of thousands gathering at Armenian capital city Yerevan’s Liberty Square after the February 2008 presidential elections—before the body politic that was dissatisfied from the election results, was First President and presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan circumventing the possible reaction by the superpowers, their expected assessments? And in general, by heading the strong Movement at the time was Ter Petrosyan not waiting for signals from the superpowers? Aravot daily asks.
“Definitely yes, he was waiting. Hence the question arises: When addressing the [opposition Armenian National Movement] ANM [party] congress on Saturday [December 22], why did [opposition bloc Armenian National Congress leader and ANM Board member] Ter-Petrosyan decide to explain how perilous it is when leaders wait for the decisions of the superpowers?” Aravot writes.
