YEREVAN. – We have warned the large business not to abuse prices towards the New Year, Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (ASCPEC) Chairman Artak Shaboyan said during a press conference on Tuesday.

In his words, several commodity markets, which also include dominant large companies, are under the supervision of ASCPEC. That is to say, the commission is carrying out a preventive function, too.

“We have not recorded price changes at those 28 commodity markets that have a social significance, but, also, a high concentration. There are small changes in the price of dairy products. [The prices of] Eggs have increased by close to AMD 3 [approx. $0.01]. [Yet] There are markets where a price fall is observed, for example, that of olive, green peas, [and] sugar,” Artak Shaboyan stated.
