YEREVAN. – There is no consensus among the political parties in Armenia’s opposition camp. It is apparent that they will be unable to unite around a single presidential candidate. Armenian Analytical Centre on Globalization and Regional Cooperation Director, political scientist Stepan Grigoryan said this during a press conference on Tuesday.      

“Since no union processes are taking place among the opposition forces, the incumbent president will not have an equal candidate, in terms of capabilities [in next February’s presidential elections],” the analyst noted.

Grigoryan added that the opposition has no time left to unite and to allure the people.   

“Our people do not see new ideas and initiatives in the opposition camp. In addition, the Armenian opposition lags behind the authorities on many foreign policy issues,” the political scientist concluded.
