YEREVAN. – Several new hotels will open in Armenia next year, Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan informed during a year-end press conference on Wednesday.   

Specifically, an 80-room Hyatt hotel will be put into operation in Jermuk city, and a 24-room hotel will start providing accommodation at Northern Avenue of capital city Yerevan.  

As per Davtyan, there was a shortage of hotels in recent years—and especially in the peak tourism season—due to an increase in the number of tourists that visit Armenia.

“The new brands will significantly change the picture of Armenia’s hotel industry. [These hotels] Are very high-ranking with the level of furnishing, and many [of them] have services and quality [that are] consistent with the [leading hotel] complexes of the world,” the economy minister stated.
