In Armenia, January 7, as all the days immediately following the Great (main) holidays, is a Memorial Day - Armenian Merelots. January 7, after the Divine Liturgy, in all churches pray for the repose of the soul, then people visit the graves of their loved ones. Holy Christmas holiday rituals continue until January 13, down to the naming of the Lord - celebration of the Child Jesus in the Temple, when it is commemorated His circumcision on the 8th day and naming.
The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Christmas on the January 6. On January 6, after the Christmas Holy Liturgy, the water is blessed, which symbolizes Christ’s baptism in the Jordan River.
