YEREVAN.- Armenian National Congress member Nikol Pashinyan has no intention to run for president, he said during a Facebook press conference organized by RFE/RL Armenian service.

“I respect Hrant Bagratyan’s decision to nominate his candidacy. We have already discussed certain issues. I wish him success. However, supporting the candidate is a responsible step. The decision will be made after he clarifies the program and goals,” he noted.

As to his plans, Pashinyan confirmed he had never had an aspiration to participate in the presidential race.

“For me, to nominate means to send a message to society that I am willing to take over the leadership and I am confident that under my authority the result will be positive. At present, I can not send such a message,” he said.
