YEREVAN.- The law sets for equal conditions for all presidential candidates, head of Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission Tigran Mukuchyan told reporters on Tuesday.

His comments came in response to remarks of several candidates saying the collateral of AMD 8 million (about $20 thousand) is anti-constitutional.

“Every candidate must be guided by criteria set by the Electoral Code. Assertions that the provision is anti-constitutional prove the candidates do not have sufficient knowledge in the legal field,” Mukuchyan noted.   

Earlier candidates Pavlik Sargsyan and Robert Simonyan labeled as “anti-constitutional” the provision urging the candidates to pay the collateral of AMD 8 million.
