YEREVAN. – Unlike Armenia’s other presidential candidates, my supporters and I have one plus point: our visible political record, National Self-Determination Union (NSU) Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan stated during a press conference on Wednesday.
As per Hayrikyan—who has submitted, to the Central Electoral Commission, his formal nomination for the presidential elections to be held in the country on February 18—, in the case when the situation was doomed at the initial phase of the election campaign, now, a phase of interesting processes has commenced.
“We need to work in the forthcoming presidential elections. If the others are making a variety of pledges, we are saying we will help implement the people’s right to self-determination,” Hayrikyan noted.
Reflecting on the competitive nature of the upcoming elections, the NSU leader said the voting will be complicated from this vantage point because, considering the political factor, it will be difficult to compete against him.
“My supporters and I expect to acquire ethical and political levers, since our [political] party is not represented at the parliament of the country,” Paruyr Hayrikyan noted.
