YEREVAN. – In 2013, the Health Ministry of Armenia will give a priority attention to these three non-infectious diseases: cardiovascular illnesses, malignant tumors, and diabetes. Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan stated this during a briefing with news reporters.
“The growth of these diseases is causing concern, and we are carrying out activities in these three directions because they occupy the first three places in the makeup of the total mortality [rate],” the minister said.
As per Dumanyan, the Health Ministry’s priority directions in 2013 will be the improvement of the quality of medical service, the pharmaceutical industry—including pricing—, balanced improvement of the medical services in the regions, and effective financial management.
