YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan on Thursday received the main group of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) Election Observation Mission, which will monitor the country’s presidential elections to be held on February 18.    

Mukuchyan underscored the importance of this mission during the forthcoming elections, CEC press service informs. Highly evaluating these observation missions, he briefed the OSCE/ODIHR representatives on the CEC’s ongoing preparations for the forthcoming presidential elections.   

In her turn, OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission Chief Heidi Tagliavini presented the objectives of their mission, and informed that its long-term observers will arrive in Armenia next week and visit the country’s district electoral commissions.
