ANTELIAS. – A delegation led by Cypriot President Dimitris Christofias paid a visit, on Thursday evening, to the Great House of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Church.   

First, Christofias and Catholicos Aram I of the Great House held a private talk, during which they discussed Lebanon-Cyprus and Armenia-Cyprus relations, the Cypriot Armenian community, and national claimancy, the Great House of Cilicia press service informs.     

Subsequently, the Catholicos and the Cypriot president delivered their welcoming remarks, during which Aram I reflected on Armenian-Cypriot ties.  

“Our two peoples are claimants; our cause is a cause for justice. When the Turks deny the genocide they have committed, when the Turks continue to occupy half of Cyprus, the international community should not remain apathetic,” the Catholicos noted.    

In his turn, Dimitris Christofias pointed to the friendship between the Armenians and the Greeks, and their solidarity in the struggle for restoring justice.  

Also, Catholicos Aram I awarded the Cypriot president with the Cilician Prince Medal.
