YEREVAN. – Armenian coalition government’s junior member Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP)—which supports incumbent President, coalition’s senior member Republican Party (RPA) leader, and presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan—will have its own campaign headquarters for the presidential election to be held on February 18. RLP MP Khachik Harutyunyan informed this during a press conference on Thursday, and added that he will head this headquarters.

“The format of RLP’s participation [in the election] and matters in connection with campaigning were discussed at the party board session. We are working closely with RPA, [and] we are planning party leader [and National Security Council Secretary] Arthur Baghdasaryan’s visits to all regions,” Harutyunyan said.

The RLP MP noted that he considers this voting to be important because there is an opportunity to conduct elections that meet international standards. Also, he stated that he sees no contest in this voting, that they are confident in Sargsyan’s victory, and they will implement their potential to this end.

Khachik Harutyunyan added that he does not believe election bribe will be distributed.
