YEREVAN. – Several matters were discussed, during the talk with my Armenian colleague, and agreements were reached in some of them; the discussions around the rest will continue and we will reach agreement. Georgian PM Bidzina Ivanishvili stated this, at Thursday’s news conference held in Armenian capital city Yerevan, commenting on his first formal visit to Armenia.    

In his words, Armenia and Georgia need to establish a common market. “The new government of Georgia plans to develop relations with the neighboring countries,” he added. 

Also, Ivanishvili extended his thanks to Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan for the warm reception.

In his turn, Sargsyan noted that there is nothing which Armenia and Georgia cannot resolve by way of discussions.  “There is great potential for expanding bilateral ties, specifically in the economic sector,” he added.  

As a result of the Sargsyan-Ivanishvili talks, two agreements were signed with respect to the cultural life and the regulation of the activities of the customs checkpoints of both countries.
