YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received a delegation led by Georgian Premier Bidzina Ivanishvili, who is in Armenia on an official visit.  

Sargsyan congratulated Ivanishvili yet again in connection with the triumph of his coalition during Georgia’s parliamentary elections, and expressed a hope that the country’s new government will perform its duties with honor, the President’s Press Office informs. Also, Sargsyan stressed that Armenia is interested in the maintenance of stability in Georgia and wishes to further strengthen relations with this country.   

In his turn, the PM of Georgia assured that his government will do its utmost so that the Armenian-Georgian ties may become the best-ever in history. Bidzina Ivanishvili noted that he and Armenia’s PM have held talks, and there is no reason to think that the two parties will have problems in reaching agreements.  

Also, the Georgian premier stressed that the two neighboring countries are obligated to further develop their economies by way of helping one another.

Noting that a presidential election will soon be held in Armenia, the PM of Georgia wished success, and expressed a hope that this voting likewise will be conducted pacifically and it will express the will of the Armenian people.
