GYUMRI. – Armenian presidential hopeful, opposition Freedom Party Chairman, former PM Hrant Bagratyan held a press conference, in Gyumri city on Tuesday, and spoke about the forthcoming presidential election in the country.
Bagratyan assured that his chances of winning the vote are great in all parts of the country.
“Candidate Bagratyan’s chances are even in all areas,” he stated, Armenian News-NEWS.am Shirak regional reporter informs.
Reflecting on the matter of the 1988 earthquake disaster zone in Armenia’s northwest, Bagratyan said he, unlike the other presidential contenders, is not exploiting this matter and even considers it a shame that Gyumri still has a disaster zone and families that still live in shacks.
Speaking on the issue that political situation in Gyumri is very passive, Bagratyan noted that he would like to meet with a large cross-section of the people. He added that he will get together with the Shirak Region residents all through his election campaign.
At the end, the presidential candidate informed that he did not come to Gyumri to ask for votes.
“If you want to, vote [for me], [and] if you don’t want to, don’t vote! I will not rig myself,” Hrant Bagratyan concluded.
