February 22, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended a conference “Turkey-Spain: Common Vision for Peace, Stability and Prosperity” hosted by Nueva Economia Forum in Madrid.

During his speech at the forum, Erdogan was given a note, CNNturk reports. According to the obtained information, the message was related to the mass arrests of representatives of Turkish military command. Turkish PM interrupted his speech and started to read it carefully.

Later, replying to the reporters’ questions, Erdogan said that more than 40 officers were arrested in Turkey.

As NEWS.am reported previously, February 22, an unidentified man threw his shoe at Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan after Nodo award ceremony in Sevilla, Spain. The man came up to Erdogan and threw a shoe at him shouting slogans “Long live free Kurdistan!”
