YEREVAN. – According to Armenia’s customs statistics, approximately 19,000 sheep were exported from the country in the first quarter of 2013.
Sheep exports increased by about fifty times, as compared to the first quarter of last year.
To note, the export in sheep had sharply declined in 2012 and made up around 61,000 sheep, per year. In the previous three years, however, it stably exceeded 100,000 sheep.
The sheep are primarily exported to Iran.
