YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) tells the people that it robbed and will continue to rob.
Opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc National Assembly Faction leader, ANC Party Vice-Chairman Levon Zurabyan said the aforementioned during Friday’s NA briefings.
In Zurabyan’s words, capital city Yerevan’s working Mayor, RPA representative Taron Margaryan’s declaration of possessions is the evidence of an official crime which the authorities are covering up.
“Holding public offices for years, he [i.e., Margaryan] has accumulated enormous wealth, $6-10 million. At the same time, [and] with his own confession, he did not receive an inheritance, did not have an outside income, and did not purchase [things] with his legal salary. Thus, we can speak about a plunder of the people’s wealth,” the ANC MP stated.
According to the opposition member, the entire RPA, “openly announces that it has robbed and will rob.”
As per Zurabyan, Sunday’s Yerevan Council election is turning into a referendum.
“Will the Republican Party receive the mandate to continue the plunder?” he asked.
