YEREVAN. – Saturday is “no campaign day” in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.

The campaign season for the Yerevan Council elections ended at midnight Friday, and therefore all types of elections campaigns are prohibited on Saturday.

Yerevan’s second municipal elections will be conducted on Sunday, a total of 464 election precincts will be open on that day, and there are 816,475 people in the voters’ list. 

Six political parties and one bloc will run in the Yerevan Council elections, and the participating political forces will vie for 65 Council seats. The election campaign had kicked off on April 7. The Yerevan Council election will be held with proportional—that is, party—lists only.
