YEREVAN. – The first Tel-Aviv –Yerevan – Tel-Aviv flight will be operated by Arkia Israel Airlines on June 5.

Marcelo Wende, the General Manager of Armenia International Airports Company, said the flights may give new impetus to relations between Armenia and Israel. Six million Israelis go on vacation every year and Armenia can become a good place for them to stay, he said.

Head of the Armenian office of Arkia Alexander Nurok is confident that the launch of flight will contribute to development of tourism in Armenia and strengthen Armenia-Israel ties. The flights will be operated once per week. The tickets will cost 310 euro.

Israel will also relax visa requirements for Armenian citizens who used to travel to Georgia to appeal for the entry visa in the Embassy. Now they will be granted a visa in the local travel agencies.
