YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Vice Premier Armen Gevorgyan on Friday met with UAE newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Saif Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi (residence in Tehran).

Minister of Territorial Administration Gevorgyan congratulated Ambassador on his appointment, expressing confidence that he will contribute to development of bilateral relations, the Ministry told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They discussed issues related to expanding bilateral cooperation, development of trade and economic ties as well as activities of intergovernmental commission. During the recent years major steps were taken to deepen cooperation between the states.

Minister Gevorgyan and UAE Ambassador underscored role of the intergovernmental commission in development of trade and economic ties.

The sides discussed necessity of opening UAE embassy in Armenia, stressing that it will give new impetus to the bilateral relations.

Ambassador noted that his country is interested in close cooperation with Armenia, expressing readiness to make his contribution to deepening of bilateral contacts.
