YEREVAN. – This year’s Europe Day events in Armenia will also take place outside capital city Yerevan for the first time, and they will be held in Gyumri city, too, on Sunday.

This also marks the start of the European Union (EU)-bus’ EU Centre-organized tour around Armenia’s Shirak, Lori, and Tavush Regions.  

The Europe Day events in Gyumri will kick off with a meeting between the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea, and the students and faculty at Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute, the EU Centre press service informs.   

Subsequently, Ambassador Hristea will open an exhibition at a picture gallery. The exhibited paintings are created by six Armenian artists who present their perceptions of European values. At the same time a small information fair will be held, during which the representatives of EU-funded programs in Shirak Region will present their activities. 

The EU-bus will park at Gyumri’s Theater Square and enable its visitors to learn more about the European Union by way of questionnaire, small games, and a lottery.

From Sunday to May 31, the EU-bus—which is the mobile version of the EU Centre—will be in Shirak, Lori, and Tavush Regions.
