YEREVAN. – A total of 260 Syrian citizens of Armenian origin were issued Armenian passports, and without the payment of state duty, in the first quarter of 2013. 

The Government of Armenia on Wednesday decided to allocate 16.9 million drams (approx. $40,556) to the MFA to clear the unpaid state duties.   

According to the MFA bulletin, the aforesaid passports were presented in Armenia’s embassies in Syria and in neighboring countries (Lebanon, United Arab Emirates).
