YEREVAN. – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide a $30 million loan to Armenian government to enhance irrigation system.
During the Wednesday meeting, Armenian government approved Irrigation System Enhancement Project, according to which $7.5 million will be allocated by the government.
Under the project, about 52 km of outlet canals in 13 selected pumping schemes would be rehabilitated to minimize losses of high-cost pumped water. The project would provide for the construction of four gravity systems (in Meghri, Gegardalich, Baghramyan-Norakert and Kaghtsrashen).
