Thomas Hammarberg, CE Commissioner for Human Rights, has arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan.

APA reported that the Commissioner is also to visit Nakhchevan, hold meetings with the Azerbaijani President, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Justice, Minister of the Interior, Prosecutor General, Head of the PACE delegation to Azerbaijan, Ombudsman and representatives of civil society. The discussions will center on media freedom, judicial system, law-enforcers’ behavior, and laws regulating NGOs’ activities.

Thomas Hammarberg’s visit will last until March 5.
