YEREVAN – Armenia and Estonia have very good relations, but both states wish the relationship were more intense, Estonia’s Ambassador to Armenia Priit Turk said told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Although there are no embassies either in Yerevan, or in Tallin, Ambassador noted that the interaction between the states is growing. “We are using other means to increase the interaction,” he added.

Speaking about the economic ties, Ambassador pointed at certain interest both from the government and the business sector.

“But, of course, we have to look at the realities. In this regard, I think it is very important to follow the negotiations of Armenia with the European Union. Trust towards your business environment will increase once you have signed the free trade agreement with the EU and start to implement it. This will bring positive attention of the Estonian businessmen,” he assured.

As to the European integration, Ambassador noted that Armenia has to set a clear goal and then “there is a lot of work to do.”

“But, I can assure you that Estonia is ready to help and support Armenia with its experience. We already have good experts here, for example head of the EU Centre Ehtel Halliste and expert on e-Governance Ivar Tallo. We are always open to help,” he added.

A reception marking the 95th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia and the Estonian cultural week took place in Yerevan on Thursday.
