Mayor Samvel Balasanyan of Armenia’s City of Gyumri on Saturday received Indian Ambassador Suresh Babu.

Balasanyan briefed the diplomat on Gyumri’s history, economic and social condition, and the ongoing major planning activities in the city.

In his turn, Ambassador Babu spoke about Armenian-Indian ties, the implemented and proposed projects, the Indian-Armenian community, and the economic accomplishments of India.  

Subsequently, and upon Balasanyan’s suggestion, the parties discussed the avenues for carrying out investment projects in Gyumri, and with India’s possible participation. The Mayor of Gyumri and the Indian ambassador expressed their willingness to conduct more in-depth discussions in this respect and to submit corresponding proposals to one another in the future.
