Representatives of the Armenian community in Moldova informed about their intention to demand the dismissal of Moldovan parliamentary advocate Aurelia Grigoriu, who had incited a diplomatic scandal.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, during last week’s international forum that was held in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, Grigoriu said: “Armenia has occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territories committing genocide against Azerbaijanis.”
“The Armenian community of Moldova issued a statement. The respective document, with a demand to remove Aurelia Grigoriu from office, will be sent to the [Moldovan] parliament this week,” Moldovan-Armenian community representative, political scientist Ernest Vardanyan told OMEGA News Agency on Monday.
According to him, Grigoriu’s demeanor at the aforesaid forum was scandalous and impermissible, and such conduct causes great harm to Moldova-Armenia interactions.
“And what is more, let us not forget that Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan will arrive in [the Moldovan capital city] Chişinău on [Thursday,] July 11. I do not doubt that this [i.e., Grigoriu’s remarks] was especially set up in the lead-up to this visit, in order to cast a shadow upon the visit,” Vardanyan stressed.
