YEREVAN. – There is a great potential to broaden Armenian-Romanian relations. 

Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated the aforesaid on Tuesday, during his talk with fellow Armenian Varujan Vosganian, Minister of Economy of Romania. 

To note, the Romanian delegation led by Vosganian is in capital city Yerevan to attend Tuesday’s session of the Armenian-Romanian Intergovernmental Commission. 

“We attach great importance to the strengthening of ties with Romania. I am confident that your visit will give new impetus to the strengthening of our ties,” Sargsyan noted. 

In his turn, Vosganian stressed that the high level political relations between the two countries create foundations for the development of economic partnership. In this context, they underscored the forthcoming Armenian-Romanian business forum.

Romania’s minister of economy also informed that a memorandum of understanding is already signed between the two sides. 

The interlocutors exchanged views on the avenues for arranging direct flights, tourism development, and invigorating economic ties between Armenia and Romania. 

In addition, Armenia’s PM Tigran Sargsyan reconfirmed his invitation for Romania’s PM Victor Ponta to visit Armenia.
