YEREVAN. – Armenia is the only country of the former Soviet Union, which shouldered responsibility of organizing the Bologna ministerial conference, Stefan Fule said in Yerevan.
On Wednesday, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy met with Armenian Education Minister Armen Ashotyan.
They discussed a number of issues related to Armenia’s secretariat in the Bologna Process, in particular, organization of the ministerial conference in Armenia in 2015.
Ashotyan offered to present the Armenian position on the Bologna process at the informal meeting of Ministers of Education of the Eastern Partnership member states, which will be held in September.
In his turn, Stefan Fule stressed importance of the Erasmus programme as an important tool of movement between students and teachers, establishment of inter-institutional relations.
They also discussed organization of a regional meeting of education ministers within the framework of Armenia’s chairmanship of the Council of Europe on October 17-18. EU Commissioner praised the positive development of Armenia-EU relations and confirmed Union’s readiness to continue support of education reforms in Armenia.
