YEREVAN. – The EU Eastern Partnership initiative opens up broad opportunities for the development of cooperation.
Erikas Petrikas, Lithuania’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, noted the aforementioned during his talk Thursday with Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan.
First, Abrahamyan congratulated Petrikas on assuming the post of the ambassador and wished him productive work, the NA press service informs. He also noted that considerable progress is achieved in the development of relations between the two countries.
The Armenian parliament head highly appreciated Lithuania’s interest in the implementation of the Eastern Partnership Project, and the country’s willingness to assist in Armenia’s policy of rapprochement with the EU.
In his turn, Ambassador Petrikas assured that he will do his utmost to develop relations. Also, he underscored the Armenian Armed Forces’ participation in international peacekeeping missions, specifically in Kosovo and in Afghanistan.
