YEREVAN. – France’s Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud commented on the criticism voiced against the OSCE Minsk Group.

Criticizing is easier than working and creating something, he said during the Friday press conference.

Asked about critical remarks on Minsk Group’s work, French diplomat recalled that mediatory mission is working constantly trying to help find a solution to the Karabakh conflict through talks.

The Ambassador recalled permanent incidents at the line of contact, in particular, several incidents last summer and the subsequent extradition of Ramil Safarov. As noted by Henri Renaud, negotiations still continue in this difficult situation, and mediators are arranging meetings with the foreign ministers Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to the diplomat, this is a considerable contribution to the process.

As for the statements indicating Iranian side’s readiness to act as a mediator, Ambassador said that negotiations are underway in the existing format of the OSCE Minsk Group.

“Parties to a conflict at the highest level indicate their satisfaction with the MG activities. Both declare their desire to continue working in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group,” he added.
