YEREVAN. – Armenia is close to initialing of the Association Agreement with EU this year, head of the National Security Council said.

Arthur Baghdasaryan chaired the Board meeting of the EU Advisory Group to Armenia held on Friday in Yerevan.

Addressing the participants, he said that talks on the agreement on free trade area are quite successful.

“The recent visit of EU Commissioner Stefan Fule showed that we are close to implementation of our goals,” Baghdasaryan noted, expressing gratitude to colleagues from the EU and Armenia’s state agencies for their effective work.

Armenia and EU are expected to initial the Association Agreement during the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius this fall.
