YEREVAN. – The Armenia-EU Association Agreement may help in opening Armenia’s border with Turkey, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Gagik Minasyan said during a press conference on Monday.

In his words, the Association Agreement is anchored in several precepts, one of which is the unacceptability of closed borders.

“In this respect, the statements by the leadership of our country are tantamount and they reflect the reality. Armenia always aspires for constructive dialogue. I am far from the thought that the border will immediately open tomorrow, but the activities toward European Union integration will yield positive results sooner or later,” the RPA MP added.

To note, the Armenia-EU Association Agreement is planned to be initialed during the EU Eastern Partnership summit to be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, in November.
