YEREVAN. – The tragedy of Hiroshima shall not be forgotten. The aforesaid was the theme of the Yerevan-Tokyo-Hiroshima television link that was established Thursday between Armenia and Japan.

The TV link was established at the initiative of “Hikari” Armenian-Japanese Cultural Center of Armenia, and it was devoted to the anniversary of the atomic bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima in 1945.

Addressing the TV link participants, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum Director Yasuomi Komizo underscored the need to strengthen ties between the youth of Armenia and Japan.

At the end of the television link, the Armenian children sang the song “Fatherland” in Japanese.

To note, one year ago, an Armenian delegation was in Japan, where it attended the events devoted to the aforesaid tragedy. Also, the delegation had brought along 67 small lanterns, which symbolized sorrow and the number of years that had passed since the bombing.
