YEREVAN. – A stele in memory of the Hiroshima victims will be erected in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
The talks are underway, and the stele is expected to be placed in the near future, Armenian Ambassador to Japan Hrant Poghosyan said during the Thursday Yerevan-Tokyo-Hiroshima television link.
Armenian diplomat said he had visited Hiroshima twice since his appointment, but first visited it back in 1987.
“During the last visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, I left a note in the guestbook. I wrote: ‘Tragedy of Hiroshima is not only a tragedy of Hiroshima, but the entire world,” he said.
