Armenia will take part in the 2013 Baghdad International Fair. In this connection, Iraq’s Trade Minister Khayrulla Hassan Babakir expressed willingness to provide the necessary organizational assistance to Armenia. He noted this during his recent talk with Armenia’s Ambassador to Iraq, Murad Muradyan.
The Armenian ambassador also met with Iraq’s Deputy PM Saleh al-Mutlaq. The interlocutors discussed the avenues for the development of relations between the two countries and the organization of mutual visits by high-level delegations. They underscored the operations of the Iraqi Embassy in Armenia, and also discussed the domestic political problems in Iraq.
Ambassador Muradyan also held a talk with Iraq’s other Deputy PM, Rose Nuri Shaways, who at the same time is co-chair of the Armenian-Iraqi Intergovernmental Commission. The parties reflected on the second session of this commission, which is slated to be convened this fall in the Armenian capital city Yerevan. They also pointed to the activities, which several ministries have carried out, to develop Armenian-Iraqi cooperation.
During Murad Muradyan’s meeting with Dr. Majeed Hamad Amin, Iraqi Minister of Health, the minister asked the ambassador to convey to his Armenian counterpart his invitation to pay a visit to Iraq.
