YEREVAN. – Armenian National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan on Friday met with Helga Schmidt, Deputy Secretary General for the European Union External Action Service (EU EAS).
The interlocutors discussed the current situation following Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union, regional security, future developments in Armenia’s cooperation with the EU, and the avenues for a pacific settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Baghdasaryan noted that the decision to join the Customs Union was made by considering the national interests of Armenia, informs the NSC press service.
He also underscored the continuation of the discourse with the EU, and noted that Armenia gives a high assessment to the past and ongoing EU-assisted reforms in the country, and expects a continued cooperation with the European Union.
