YEREVAN. – Sunday’s mayoral elections in Ararat city were unique because both political teams had done a lot of work.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction leader Galust Sahakyan told the aforesaid to reporters on Monday.
“Both teams [i.e., the RPA and the non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party] were quite strong, but the RPA candidate won.
“I would like these two teams to unite and fulfill the promises they made in the election season. The teams may cooperate with the Municipality of Ararat,” Sahakyan noted.
As per the RPA NA leader, if there are problems, both the government and the opposition MPs unite to solve them.
“I certainly do not consider such a situation as a triumph, since you triumph over an enemy. The electorate of the political majority [simply] supported its candidate,” Galust Sahakyan concluded.
