YEREVAN. – The authorities of Armenia should not have the right to raise their own salaries. 

Opposition Freedom Party Chairman, ex-presidential candidate, former PM, MP and economist Hrant Bagratyan stated the above-said at Monday’s National Assembly (NA) discussions of the bill on raising the salaries of civil servants.

“This law should be extended solely onto the next authorities; that is, it should enter into force as of 2017,” Bagratyan specifically argued. 

To note, in the first reading the NA opposition voted against this bill, but the ruling majority cast their votes in its favor.
