YEREVAN. – Control Chamber cannot be an independent body in Armenia no matter how much the opposite is claimed, Armenian opposition MP said.
Alexander Arzumanyan’s remarks came during the Monday parliamentary session when the lawmakers discussed Ishkhan Zakaryan’s candidacy for the post of head of the Control Chamber.
“You declare that the chamber is an independent body, and we in a calm face pretend that we believe in it. This resembles a performance,” Arzumanyan added.
The MP underscored that all public authorities declare their independence. The State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition recently announced that Armenia does not have a monopoly on sugar, as Coca-Cola imported sugar for their products.
