The parliament of Turkey had passed the notorious wealth and earnings tax law on November 11, 1942.

As a result, the state-run depredation of the country’s non-Muslims was legalized.

Turkey, which at the time had close ties with Nazi Germany, was preparing to enter the Second World War. And to secure corresponding budget spending, it passed the aforesaid racist tax law, and the country’s non-Muslims became its primary victims.

Pursuant to this law, Turkey’s Armenians, Jews and Greeks had to pay 232, 179 and 156 percent, respectively, whereas the Turkish Muslims had to pay a mere 4.93 percent in taxes.

This law ensured the rise of the Turkish bourgeoisie at the expense of Turkey’s non-Muslims that were being embezzled at state level and were leaving the country.
