YEREVAN. – The Armenian authorities ruined Karabakh’s return to negotiations, said opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan.

He commented on the bill on Karbakh’s recognition proposed by Heritage party member Zaruhi Postanjyan during the Tuesday hearings in parliament.

“I want to use the bill as a good occasion to express my distrust to the Armenian authorities’ policy on NKR. Karabakh lost its place at negotiating table during the rule of Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan. This resulted in distortion of the essence of the conflict and turned it into a territorial dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” MP added.

The last failure of Armenia’s policy is a resolution adopted by the European Parliament on October 23, Pashinyan added.

“The incumbent regime has no idea how to return Karabakh to negotiation process, and this would be in the interests of Armenia. Moreover, steps are being taken to ensure that the struggle for independence in 1988 was not a national revival, but pernicious emotional outburst,” Pashinyan noted.
