YEREVAN. – Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction member Sukias Avetisyan explained the motives for increasing the wages of the country’s state officials.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Avetisyan stated that the reason for such an undertaking is the fear of drainage in human resources.

In the RPA NA member’s view, before—and within the framework of combating corruption—they were attempting to resolve the wage-increase matter separately in each organization.

Now, however, they are trying to solve this problem in a systemic manner, and to prevent drainage in human resources.

Sukias Avetisyan added that the minimum wage in Armenia will increase next year, and the pensions likewise are expected to rise.
