YEREVAN. – Member of Heritage party Armen Martirosyan does not have great expectations from the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents.
“I do not see the reasons for this meeting to become a historic one. It will be a regular meeting,” he told reporters.
Referring to foreign policy issues, Martirosyan underscored importance of Customs Union via. Association Agreement struggle over Ukraine. Member of the opposition party noted that current developments are not favorable for Armenia, as the country always lost as a result of such struggle.
In this context, he pointed to the developments in the Middle East which are marked by attempts to warm up relations between the West and Iran and Israel’s decision to stop construction settlements in the West Bank. Finally, the West will have more allies in the region and will get a field for wide range of actions, he added.
