YEREVAN. – The domestic political situation can have a serious impact on investment policy in any country.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Vahram Baghdasaryan noted the aforementioned at a press conference on Thursday.
He added, however, that he does not believe that Armenia’s domestic political situation is so tense that it would affect the investment policy toward the country.
“But a new situation is created in connection with the Customs Union [accession plans of Armenia]. Naturally, [and] until the clarification of the situation, investors may consider [making] investments [in Armenia to be] risky. The new situation may have an impact,” the RPA MP said.
To encourage investors, however, he suggested that Armenia needs to review its tax, customs, and monetary-credit policy.
“These can give investors a reason to ponder whether to consider their investments [in Armenia] risky,” Vahram Baghdasaryan concluded.
