YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) was born from the Karabakh War.

RPA National Assembly (NA) Faction leader Galust Sahakyan stated the aforesaid at Friday’s NA briefing with news reporters.

As per Sahakyan, however, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s (NKR) recognition by Armenia at this time is nonsense.

“The entire parliament is bringing arguments about the inexpedience of this bill, but, based on the rules of ethics, we are obligated to listen to groundless, empty talks [in the NA],” Sahakyan noted.  

He stressed that the priority of the RPA policy is the settlement of the Karabakh conflict and the independence of NKR. 

“God willing, may our party cease to exist, but let the Karabakh conflict be resolved,” Galust Sahakyan added.
