YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan continues to thwart the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiation process, stated Armenian National Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov.

Sharmazanov reflected on the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ firing upon the civilian vehicles traveling along the road toward Armenia’s Vazashen village in Tavush Region on November 16.

“A few days before the upcoming meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire in the direction of [Armenia’s] frontier residences, [thereby] repeatedly violating the ceasefire and stubbornly refusing the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ appeals for, and continuous efforts to, the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“Ultimately, the co-chairing countries and the international community should strongly condemn the Azerbaijani armed forces’ such actions, which undermine regional stability and peace,” the Armenian parliament vice-chair stated.
